The Steady Staff

has family history!

The Steady Staff originated several years ago when I created a staff using a pole from an early 1970’s Alpine Designs tent I had used in high school. The concept and purpose that shaped the current design was prompted by my wife needing a stable pedestal upon which to set her binoculars and camera, as she contends with a condition known as ‘essential tremor’. She is a committed naturalist, birder and tracker, and the staff alleviated the frustration she experienced in trying to gain a steady view.

In addition, it provided stability and balance when hiking, more confidence with water crossings and other tricky terrain, and a convenient place to rest tired arms. Through the years, The Steady Staff has progressed through some design and material changes, most suggested by family and friends who have been a part of its development. It’s a genuine family endeavor, with its durability and service tested by grandparents and grandchildren alike.

Thank you for your interest and support! If you have any suggestions or feedback, we’d like to hear from you. Stay Steady…
