Caring for Your Steady Staff

The Steady Staff is built for years of reliable use in all kinds of environments - rain, snow, sand, and sunshine. With just a little care, it will continue to steady your view season after season.

Adjusting the Flip-Locks

Included with your Steady Staff is a yellow 3 mm T-hex wrench, used to adjust the silver bolts on each flip-lock. You may never need it - but if the locks begin to feel too loose or tight, a slight turn will customize the tension to your liking.

Tip: It's easiest to adjust the staff’s length when all three flip-locks are fully open.

General Cleaning

  • After Outdoor Use: Wipe down the staff with a damp cloth to remove dirt, sand, or salt - especially from the lower sections.

  • For Snow or Wet Conditions: Dry the staff before storing to prevent build-up inside the telescoping tubes.

  • Avoid Submersion: While the lower 18” is sealed and water-resistant, The Steady Staff is not designed to be fully submerged.

Long-Term Storage

When not in use, store The Steady Staff in a dry place with the locks relaxed (not overtightened). If it's been exposed to heavy dirt, a quick rinse and air dry before storing will help keep everything working smoothly.
